A recent ammendment to the New Brunswick Pharmacy Act has given the province's 600 pharmacists more tools they can use to help their clients.  The changes, which came into effect on October 30, 2008, will give New Brunswickers better access to their medications, will lighten physicians workloads, and will make our province's health care system... healthier.

• replace, extend and renew some existing prescriptions
• issue a new prescription for pre-existing conditions in an emergency situation
• Alter prescriptions to accommodate special needs

• work closely with your doctor to ensure your health record is current and complete
• recommend that you follow-up with your doctor
