Regulation 24.2
states members must maintain a portfolio of learning activities.  The current minimum requirement for pharmacists* and pharmacy technicians** is to complete 15 Continuing Education (CE) units on an annual basis in order to be eligible to renew their licence.  

The licence renewal process begins on November 1st and ends on November 30th each year.  Members must certify to have completed the minimum requirement for continuing education (15) since their last renewal.  For example, CE's completed between November 1st, 2019 and November 30th, 2020 (13 months) are eligible to be counted towards the 2021 licence renewal requirement.

*New pharmacist graduates: If, during the same year you received your degreeyou have completed your post-graduate training manual (4 weeks in length), and became a licensed pharmacist, you are deemed to have met the continuing education (CE) requirement for the renewal period (November 1, to November 30) for the coming year only.  For example, if your graduation date was May, 2019 and a pharmacist licence was obtained in 2019, then during the renewal process for the year 2020, you were deemed to have met the continuing education requirement).  Every year thereafter, please refer to the continuous professional development requirements.

**New pharmacy technician graduates: If between November 1st of the previous year and November 30th of the current year you spent 15 hours or more completing your Structured Practical Training manual and, became a licensed Pharmacy Technician, you are deemed to have met the continuing education (CE) requirement for the renewal period (November 1, to November 30) for the coming year only. For example, if you began the training manual in December, 2018 and a pharmacy technician licence was obtained in 2019 then during the renewal process for the year 2020, you were deemed to have met the continuing education requirement.
